Blaze Buddies
The in-person session will begin by introducing Blaze, the dragon on the weathervane on top of the Cloth Hall, through a short action poem.
This will be followed by other activities including a simple craft linked to the treasure Blaze has found that day.
This way, each session, the children will discover something new and exciting about the museum and its collections.
This month’s session theme is Woolly Mammoths and will include a short action poem about Blaze followed by a story.
We will discover some fun facts about Woolly Mammoths along with a craft activity. We’ll end with a sing-along and a hunt to find the museum dragon.

Places are limited and free tickets will be available from the museum reception desk from 10am onwards on the day on a first come, first served basis.
After this session, the next session is Thursday 7 July at 11am – the theme for this session will be Dinosaurs.

THE WOODLAND FEAST
A four course woodland feast in beautiful mature woodlands in Oxfordshire. Walk through the woods, enjoy a cocktail (or mocktail) on arrival. Sit at our locally sourced oak tables, under a beautiful canopy of mature beech trees for a feast cooked over fire. LOCATION
This event will be held in woodland near Goring Heath in the beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside. The nearest train stations are Goring on Thames, Pangbourne and Reading. Reading station is just a 23 minute train journey from London Paddington. You will be sent a Google pin drop with the exact meeting location of the woodland car park with your ticket.

Approx 3 HRSSteve, your guide, will share his knowledge about these beautiful birds - and Owls won't be all you see! There's also an array of other birds and wildlife on this route that you may be lucky enough to spot; sometimes Peregrines or even Hobby hunting, sometimes Sparrowhawk's, plenty of Buzzards and Red Kites.... as well as the smaller British birds.
These experiences run from June to September to coincide with breeding season.

The Family Owl Spotting Experience!
Approx 2hrsTo see these beautiful and mesmerising small owls is something you wont forget. You will learn all about our resident Owls in the UK with many interesting facts about them. If we are lucky too as the light drops away we may see a Tawny Owl moving about the tress as they go out to hunt for the evening.
Steve, your guide, will share his knowledge about these beautiful birds - and Owls won't be all you see! It is now the end of the breeding season and most of the owls are off finding suitable places to roost over the winter so they are hard to find.
These experiences will continue from March 2022 so keep an eye out for dates or if interested drop us a line and we will contact you when they are back on.

The Hartley Arms is opening its doors every other Thursday, to a world of live entertainment with Honesty Live! Sit back and relax with friends and family whilst enjoying a range of live entertainment from music to comedy. Drinks and food will be available throughout the night. Thursday 18th August: Acoustic Indie Singer Charley Hart
Charley Hart is a solo artist with an incredible voice and who sings lesser known but much loved songs, from artists such as Katie Tunstall to Paolo Nutini. She’s been gigging since she was fourteen years old and has written and recorded a number of her own songs that have appeared on Spotify. Her singing is a hobby that she has developed and grown since she was young, and she now enjoys playing regularly at local venues and events across West Berkshire and Hampshire. Her style is acoustic indie.

Approx 3hrsYou start by walking along the beautiful River Pang, a tributary of the Thames, through a mainly Ash woodland where Deer roam, Marsh Tits and Spotted Flycatchers move through the trees, Woodpeckers Drum and Yaffle and Blackcaps can be heard singing along the pathway. You then head into the reserve to explore its diverse habitat through beautiful woodland copses and meadows where there is an abundance of wildlife ready to be found.
