Under the direction of Peter Phillips, the Tallis Scholars have established themselves as one of the leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music throughout the world.

For their Festival debut they are honoured to present their special 50th birthday concert featuring music from Gibbons, Tallis and Byrd, through to Muhly, Rutter and Pärt in the glorious setting of Douai Abbey.

“Our 50th birthday season gives me an opportunity to programme some of the pieces which have meant most to us over the years.

For this reason I have chosen to do just one piece by my favourite composers – though there could have been many more.” Peter Phillips.
