From Dragons to Dinosaurs

A light-hearted ramble by Sue Ellis through the history of dinosaurs, from the ‘dragon bones’ of the Far East, via Biblical giants, the Crystal Palace statues, the Natural History Museum, and Jurassic Park, to modern discoveries and the origin of birds. No previous experience of dinosaurs is necessary.
Sue Ellis is a local historian whose interest in dinosaurs started at age four when she was given a book on them (she got a nursery rhymes book too, but dinosaurs were so much more interesting). Her interest was nurtured by childhood visits to the Natural History Museum, and later by films like King Kong, Valley of the Gwangi, Walking with Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. Counting herself as a fascinated amateur, this is her first talk on dinosaurs.
Tickets for this in-person talk are FREE (donations welcomed), but they must be booked in advance.
