Bird Walks Around Thatcham Lakes are a perfect way to relax

Bring binoculars if you have them.

Meet at the back of NDC overlooking the lake and bring weather suitable clothing and footwear.

This is a very gentle walk which won’t cover much distance.

Guide dogs only
Dogs are welcome on the reserve, but please keep them out of the lake.
they ask that you keep dogs under close control at all times.
Dogs, except assistance dogs, are not permitted inside the visitor centre.
MOBILITY
This event is unfortunately unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Bird Walks Around Thatcham Lakes

The Nature Discovery Centre is packed full of interactive wildlife and natural history displays. There is a network of footpaths ranging from small family-friendly walks to longer paths for the more adventurous. Surrounded by a mosaic of different habitats, there is fantastic wildlife to see all year round.

Whether you have just an hour, a day or a week to give, and whatever your skills, there’s an opportunity for you to volunteer with the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) near where you live.
