Englefield Stores and Tearooms
Englefield is a pretty little village and while visiting, there are other places and things to do in the village that may interest you. Englefield is a great place to have a stroll or visit the Garden Centre with Five a Day too.
A temporary tea garden in Englefield Village is now open for business, in time for the summer season.
Business owners Liz and Dan Wirth have been working hard in recent weeks to get the ‘pop-up’ marquee finished and are now looking forward to serving up a tasty menu for visitors.
The tea room will open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm.
Liz says she and Dan are delighted their pop up is now, up and running. Liz said: “The tea rooms are such an important part of Englefield Village that both Dan and I were determined visitors wouldn’t miss out on wonderful homemade food during the coming summer months.
“The marquee is looking great and we are very excited about welcoming both existing and new customers.”
On the menu is a range of freshly prepared sandwiches, hot food, homemade cakes, as well as hot and cold drinks. The tasty treats include a range of Englefield salads and there’s also the Englefield afternoon tea, a savoury and sweet extravaganza, with sandwiches, quiche, scone, slice of cake and mini macaroon – all served with a pot of tea. Please book ahead for the Afternoon Tea. Homemade dishes are created with as much fresh produce from Englefield House as possible.
The tea room marquee will be a temporary fixture while refurbishment work is being carried out on Englefield Village Stores and the adjoining house. The shop has been moved into the barn at the rear, which is normally home to the tea room. With improvement works due to be completed in the autumn, Liz and Dan didn’t want to be without such a popular visitor attraction in the village over the summer months.
