Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.
The believers light lamps all around the house, held torch parades in the streets and carry out ceremonies that symbolized the victory of the good over the bad. They burn dolls that represent the evil.
The festival is accompanied by strong noise of exploding detonators, fireworks that colors the sky, and also by sharing sweets and fruits with relatives and friends.
