Bradfield is a village and civil parish. Aside from farms and a small amount of woodland, its main settlements are Bradfield Southend, Bradfield village, the nucleus founded in medieval times, and the hamlet of Tutts Clump with its offshoot of Rotten Row and Rotten Row Hill. Bradfield village is the home of the public school Bradfield College.Founded in 1850 and set in picturesque Berkshire countryside, Bradfield aims to provide an ‘education for life’ fit for the 21st century.

 Bradfield Southend has the Village Shop and Post Office and is well-known locally for the display of outdoor Christmas lights put on by many residents. 

Bradfield Village is mainly focused around Bradfield School.  Tutts Clump contains a Methodist Chapel and Vets.

This village lies on the extremities of the Berkshire Downs and the Chiltern Hills at a point where the waters of the rivers Thames and Kennet meet

Bradfield College

The Village Hall is available for hire for Celebrations – Children’s Parties – Meetings – Sales – Events etc It is also a regular Venue for Ballet, Bridge Club, Dog Training, Street Jazz, Sunshine Club, Tai Chi, WI, Gardening Club. Bradfield Market

This takes place on the second Saturday of every month in the Village Hall between 10 and 11.30. Artisan Crafts – Cakes – Cards – Dog Food – Gifts – Jewellery – Plants – Pies – Preserves – – Refreshments – Farm Produce and more. There is also Bradfield Southend Village Stores and Post Office. There is a sunshine club with registered childcare, there is Bradfield. Training Club, a Tai Chi & Qigoing Club, Dancing for all ages – Ballet, modern, tap, Street Jazz, St. Peter’s Toddler Group, Bradfield WI, Bradfield Bridge Group, Local Girlguiding and Bradfield Gardening Club.

St. Peter’s Pre-School, St. Peter’s Pre-School is set in a semi-rural location behind St Peter’s Church in Bradfield Southend.

 Bradfield C of E, St. Andrew’s School, is co-educational independent Prep School for boys and girls aged 3 to 13, set in 54 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside.

The name of the village of Bradfield simply means ‘Broad Field’ and indicates that its origin must have been linked with agriculture in some way. Bradfield is still a rural settlement about 60 km west of London. The modern settlement is made up of two communities: Bradfield, the original village site around the mill and River Pang and Southend Bradfield which developed along the ridge forming a direct communication link to the west.
