An Evening Owl Spotting Experience
This is a 2 – 2.5 hour wildlife walk experience in Streatley, along a route that was well populated last year with both Little and Tawny Owls.
To hear the call of the different owls around us as we walk is really magical, and often we are lucky enough to see the Little Owls as they hunt the fields along a section of the walk.
Steve, your guide, will share his knowledge about these beautiful birds – and Owls won’t be all you see! There’s also an array of other birds and wildlife on this route that we may be lucky enough to spot; sometimes Peregrines hunting, sometimes Sparrowhawks, plenty of Buzzards and Red Kites…. as well as the smaller British birds.
Why not book on and join us?
I hope you are well and enjoying this change in the weather! Those of you who have been following us for a while I know are keen to hear about the Owl Walks, and seeing this re-start this year.
I don’t run these until the Little Owls have finished nesting and the young have fledged and are old enough to move around and hunt for themselves, so they are strong and comfortable with “visitors”. We started them mid July last year and we have reached that time again.
I am delighted to announce these are now live and you can book them through me- the first two dates are this week as the weather is looking great, with more dates to follow! These are the Group Walks. If you are interested in booking a private walk session for you or your family please let me know.
After several great sessions of local Owl Walks I am now happy to launch this experience for this season. On the last three trials to test the route I have had great showings of Little Owl as the young have fledged, but also the route is full of other wildlife; tonight I have had Hobby hunting, yesterday was Peregine – photos to come in social media! This week we have the start of some amazing evening weather so I have listed two evening sessions – Friday night and Saturday night. I will add more dates over the season. So if you are looking for something to do with friends, family, or to come along solo and meet other like minded people – get booked on!
I get asked each year if I do an Owl Walk that’s Family Friendly so people can bring kids or teenagers.
The main walks are for 16+ but I will do some Family Friendly dates and will list these separately, so we can get the kids involved too.
