Newbury Festival 2021

Newbury Spring Festival 2021

Given the continuing uncertainty of staging live events, the Festival Board have taken the decision to postpone the 2021 Newbury Spring Festival to 4 – 20 September 2021.

While we are of course sad to have to postpone events in May again, we’re delighted to confirm that many of the planned concerts in May have been moved to September. Full details of the new programme will be released on the website in the coming weeks.

Highlights of the new September Festival include – The Armonico Consort performing St Matthew Passion on the opening night, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with Jennifer Pike on the middle weekend, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra will close the Festival on the final weekend.

Plans for September will still be focused on using St. Nicolas Church and the Corn Exchange as the principal Festival venues. We envisage many of the Social-Distancing restrictions to still be in force even in September. Full details of all the concerts and Covid-safe provision will be made on our website at the time of booking.

Booking dates will be confirmed in the coming days, but it is likely that Friends Booking will open in early July with Public Booking opening at the end of the same month.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Festival in September.

In the meantime, stay safe,

Julian Chadwick
