A Very Hopeful Message From The Mill at Sonning

This morning was another early one mulling over the dates for re-opening The Mill….AGAIN !!! As I was moving shows around the calendar I had the news on in the background. Amidst all the doom & gloom was that wonderful ray of hope. The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine.

So here we go. The Mill is opening towards the end of March. All of the January/February shows have been rescheduled throughout late March, April & May. You have all been amazing so far and I hope that, if you had tickets booked, you will stick with us and move again. I thank you from the bottom of my heart in anticipation. Don’t call us, the Box Office team will call you over the next 10 days. They will be very busy. Can I just take a moment to thank Mark Chappell and his colleagues in the Box Office. They have dealt with the situation over the year with such grace and calm. Never flinching when I produce yet another set of plans.

Apart from re-scheduling shows I have also been firming up the rest of the season and have programmed up until March 2022. I have added extra performances to TOP HAT and THE HOUSE ON COLD HILL will now play from Feb 3rd 2022

There will also be plenty of fun fundraising events. The most important being a Special Gala Performance of TWO INTO ONE on Saturday Evening, Sept 11th. This is a day to put in your diary. It is the day that we will be naming the auditorium after playwright Ray Cooney. He has been such a support to The Mill over the years and especially throughout the pandemic. The tickets are £200 each and it will be quite a star-studded event. I am also having some special seat plaques designed to celebrate the event. If you would like to buy one of these and have your name put on a seat then please contact me on sally.hughes@millatsonning.com. Each seat/plaque with your name on is £3,000 and with the purchase you will also become a member of the exclusive Mill Angels club. Mill Angelsbecome part of The Mill family with access to coffee and chats with me and the team; rehearsals and special dinners – as well as lifetime membership to the Friends club, plus the knowledge that you are helping The Mill continue to be an artistic powerhouse for generations to come.

In 2 weeks time I will be sending an email out with all the shows into next year. They are all available to book online right now of course.
