See below to find details of this event, including guidance on how to connect… This event is scheduled to begin at 7pm GMT on Tuesday 22 December 2020. The performance will last approximately 2 hours 10 minutes. If the event does not begin automatically, please refresh the page. Following the live stream, a film of the performance will be available to watch On Demand until 21 January 2021. For advice on getting set up, please read our general guidance on access issues. Start a conversation: comment on social media with the hashtag #OurHouseToYourHouse to discuss the performance. Christopher Wheeldon’s lively Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland transports audiences to the riotous world of Lewis Carroll’s characters, including a tap-dancing Mad Hatter and a comically wicked Queen of Hearts. Bob Crowley’s ingenious mixture of traditional and innovative stagecraft together with the pace and colour of Joby Talbot’s score make Alice a gloriously vibrant experience. Packed with clever choreography – from the memorable croquet scene, complete with flamingos and hedgehogs, to a parody of the Rose Adage from The Sleeping Beauty – this is enchanting family entertainment at its best. Due to the cancelled stream of The Nutcracker Reworked, this recording of Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will now be available to stream from 22 December 2020 instead of from 1 January 2021 as originally advertised. Streaming will still be available for 30 days from 22 December until 21 January. Recovery Campaign Live performance is a shared experience, and our audiences are at the heart of what we do on our stages, backstage, online, in cinemas and in our communities. This year’s global pandemic has affected all arts organisations across the world. We have lost £3 in every £5 of our income, and any Government loan will take us only part of the way. But in a similar way to how these bands pushed the genre in their time, Wille and the Bandits try to take their sound beyond what is expected of such a traditional line up. The use of more bizarre instrumentation and eclectic influences in the song writing often pushes them more into a world music or progressive category. Having toured with artists such as Deep Purple through to the John Butler trio and played major festivals across Europe, the band seem to leave an equally astounding impression on audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds with their energetic and soulful performances. They have received great critical acclaim, being voted in the top ten must see bands at Glastonbury 2014 by BBC Radio 1 and reaching number 2 in the UK blues chart with their first single on downloads alone. Now touring their third independently released studio album Wille and the Bandits fan base, repertoire of sounds, styles and innovation seems to be growing at an exponential rate. The band are praised in the press for their albums; bursting at the seams with textures, originality and soul. Rock legends such as Ian Paice, Joe Bonamassa and Francis Rossi have also praised the band’s musicianship and their unique edge to Rock and Blues. “Wille is a suberb slide player, I love what these guys are doing” – Joe Bonamassa If Cream had spent more time on a beach in Newquay they might have sounded like this.” – Blues Matters Magazine Support comes from Troy Redfern. 10:00 -15:00 29/01/2021 Communications Road, Greenham Business Park, Greenham, RG19 6HN Beginners CrochetPriority booking opens to Members on Tuesday 8 December. We will create a collaged ground using text, tissue and patterned papers as the starting point for our image. We will then work over this with layers of acrylic paint – spattering, dripping, and scraping to create a loose impression of a harbour scene, adding more collage elements as we need them. Further layers of paint, simple ways to depict boats and adding detail and linework with pen, ink and pastel make the whole image come alive. A fun mixed media approach suitable for beginners and anyone wanting to work in a free and forgiving way… if you don’t like a bit just cover it up with more collage! What to bring: Heavy watercolour paper (approx. 350gsm) or mountboard / back of sketchpad (painted white if you’re using this) or MDF (painted white). Lightweight patterned & plain papers for collage – whatever you have. Drawing pencil, Waterproof fineliner pen in a dark colour or dark acrylic ink and a dip pen or fine brush.
