Let’s Make Gin,” someone said….
So we did. And we became pretty good at it. And when we became good at it, we strove to get even better.
It took time. We researched numerous methods and techniques, made many gin friends, found ourselves foraging for botanicals, reading all the books and even getting the qualifications. We also found a great use for the honey from our beehives!
We are now happily sharing our expertly crafted, unique creations with the world.
Our focus is on creating distinctive spirit brands, sumptuous flavours and making them totally and utterly irresistible.
We hope you will enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them.
The 137 Distillery
Undoubtedly the pièce de résistance of The Newbury, we are proud to host the first gin distillery in Newbury’s history.
Here at 137 Gin we are delighted to announce that once again we have made it into The Gin Guide Finals!
Lumber’s Bartholomew Berkshire Dry Gin is in the finalist categories of London Dry Gin and Contemporary Gin (over 42% ABV).
Lumber’s Bartholomew London Dry Gin is finalist in the Traditional Gin category.
Lumber’s Bartholomew Navy Strength Gin is in the Navy Strength Gin category.
And last but not least 137 Gin Distillery is a nominated finalist in the Industry Category of Distillery of the Year!
To say we’re pleased is an understatement. Right now this is exactly the type of positive news we need in the industry, especially for those of us who have worked so hard in the last year.
It’s comforting to know that we’re doing something right – that’s 2 years in a row that we’ve been finalists in 4 categories and nominated in an industry category as the 5th.
